Fords Sisterhood provides a place for women to be united as Sisters in Christ through Faith, Friendship and Fun. The Sisterhood meets on the 2nd Sunday of each month for fellowship, refreshments, dynamic speakers, devotionals for helping with the stresses of everyday life and the opportunity to participate in ministry opportunities.
We are very excited about the Fords Sisterhood and all it has, and can continue to accomplish, in our church and community. The following is a summery of the many things the Lord has used this ministry to accomplish:
Missions Fund. From our Missions Fund, we support individual families in our church and donate to the following non-profit organizations:
– Christian Women’s Job Corp
– e-3 Partners
– Harvest Volunteer Fire Department
Community Outreach Dinner. We held an Easter Lily sale in remembrance of loved ones and hosted the first Community Outreach dinner to honor our local volunteer firefighters. It is our hope this will be the “spark” to continuing this outreach by other groups in the church in the new year. In addition, the Sisterhood provided a meal to the students of the newly established Madison location of the Christian Women’s Job Corp.
Girlfriends. Girlfriends is a bible study offered to all women of our church with a special invitation to the mothers of children who attend our Learning Center. The studies are offered on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and provide great opportunities to bond and share our faith experiences.
Care & Nurture Program. Care & Nurture Program is a ministry that helps with meals for those who are experiencing an illness or death in the family.
Sunshine Basket. The Sunshine Basket seeks to bring a lil’ sunshine into the lives of church members who may going through a difficult time.
Various Community Ministries. A few of the community ministries Fords Sisterhood has recently participated in:
The Harvest Youth Club‘s “Christmas Gifts That Keep on Giving” Program seeks to support the club’s much needed after school care programs.
Reece’s Rainbow raises funds to help offset the financial responsibility of bringing a child with Down’s Syndrome or other special need home from oversees orphanages.
Christmas Charities Year Round. Fords Sisterhood has helped by adopting families in need of assistance with providing toys/items for their children.
