Ford’s Chapel offers two enriching options for four-year-olds: our Four-Year-Old Class and our Pre-K Class.
While these programs differ in daily attendance schedules, curriculum, and learning goals, both are designed to foster academic growth, social development, and spiritual formation in a nurturing environment.
Each day includes:
- Engaging classroom learning
- Outdoor play on the playground
- Music class
- Weekly Chapel time
To ensure readiness for these programs, all students must be fully potty trained. Children who are not yet potty trained will be lovingly placed in our Three-Year-Old Class, where they’ll continue to grow and prepare for the next step.
Four-Year-Old Class
The Ford’s Chapel Four-Year-Old Program is a play-based, nurturing environment that helps children prepare for kindergarten routines. Each day begins with circle time, followed by themed learning activities focused on letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Instruction is guided by weekly themes and monthly skill sets that support motor and social development. Children also enjoy music, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and weekly Chapel.
Unlike Pre-K, students in the Four-Year-old Class typically attend on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday schedule. Pre-K students attend all five days.

Pre-K Class
Our Pre-K Program uses the Abeka curriculum, a Christian, phonics-based approach that lays a strong foundation for kindergarten success. With a five-day-a-week schedule, students benefit from consistent instruction, allowing for a more focused and enriching learning experience.
Each day begins with circle time—a joyful moment of singing, dancing, and preparing for the day ahead. Students then transition to whole-group Abeka lessons, where age-appropriate skills and concepts are introduced and practiced. These lessons are reinforced during center time, giving children the freedom to explore, build confidence, and engage in activities that suit their interests.
Creative learning continues with daily music class, art projects, and outdoor play, offering plenty of opportunities for social growth and self-expression. Pre-K students also attend Chapel once a week, where the Christian values taught in the classroom are brought to life in fun and meaningful ways.
