About Us

Welcome to Ford’s Chapel United Methodist Church. You have electronically entered the oldest Methodist church in Alabama. Wow, if only our ancestors could see their church now! You can learn more about our 201 years in the Harvest community by clicking the HISTORY tab on the Home Page menu.   

 

As for the present, we are growing with our community. Ford’s Chapel has two Sunday morning worship services, a range of children and youth programs, and small group opportunities for adults. We are a mission/serving church who takes seriously God’s call to love and care for our neighbors. We support and work with the Harvest Youth Club, Appalachian Service Project, Samaritans Purse, and John and Suzanne Funk – UM Missionaries in Bolivia. Ford’s Chapel has chartered the only Teen MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) chapter in the state. We also have an excellent Mother’s Day Out and Kindergarten Program.

 

Our future is rich with promise and possibilities just as our history is full of tradition and meaning.  We hope you enjoy your web-visit with us, but we invite you to come be with us “in the flesh.” You know, that is how God came to be among us – in the flesh of the person Jesus.   In Him is a meeting place for all times.
